Tremella mesenterica
neon orange, gelatinous,
There are two species that the fungus shown could be. Either Witches Butter (Tremella lutescens) or Orange Jelly Fungus (Dacrymyces palmatus). The way it has begun to decay as it has aged tips me off to the idea that it is most likely Witches Butter. As it ages, bits of it start to become a more reddish orange and increasingly leathery, whereas Orange Jelly dissolves into a more gooey substance.
