Nymphalis antiopa antiopa
I spotted this mourning cloak butterfly at the entrance to Anderson's La Costa Gardens in Leucadia, CA. This morning cloak is on a butterfly bush at the entrance to the gardens.

Thanks Martin. I updated the spelling in the title, description, and tag.
A mourning (spelled with a "u") cloak is a shawl used for lamenting in times of sadness. This name is often spelled 'morning' which has a brighter meaning but not correct. This butterfly is also known as a Camberwell beauty after, I guess, a town in England.
Lovely!
