Medium sized shorebird. Brown with less patterned underwing too other curlews. Distinctive long curved bill.

Habitat:

Wetlands and beaches.

Notes:

Listed as Endangered on the Tasmanian Threatened Species Protection Act 1995

Thanks :) I spent about an hour chasing these birds along the beach photographing them, so this was the best of many photos.

These birds are probably preparing to fly back down here from Russia now :)
