Polydamus Swallowtail

Battus polydamus

Description:

Fast moving black with yellow rim butterflies that try to take over my garden because they love my flowers for nectar and my Pipevine bush for laying their eggs.

Habitat:

Gardens

Notes:

These rascals fly so fast and sit so little, I have considerable difficulty getting a non-active picture. They like to chase away the Giant Swallowtails, the Sulphurs , the Zebra Longwings and anything else they feel is competing with them.
