Ruby-Throated Hummingbird

Description:

Female Ruby-throated hummingbirds have metallic green above and greyish white below, with near-black wings and males have the ruby red throat. Their bill is long, straight and very slender.

Habitat:

Ruby-throated hummingbirds live in woodland areas, but also frequent gardens where flowering plants are plentiful (as well as where feeders are plentiful). It is a migratory bird, wintering in southern Mexico to South America. It breeds mostly in the eastern United States, as well as in southern Canada.
