A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Punicaceae Punica granatum 'State Fair'
I watched this plant over the summer. The first picture has orange flowers and this plant was covered in them at the beginning of the summer. Then they got pollenated and grew into these golf ball sized fruits. The last picture is the size the dwarf variety gets, making it appropriate for many landscapes and yards. What the humans don't eat, the animals will love you for if you leave them on the tree/bush to overwinter. It's like a free bird seed producer.
Night visit to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens.
