In my city, not far from the city center, there is this little green area with this small pond. Due to lack of funds for the area maintenance, the little pond has become a real wild place (the only positive aspect of this lack of funds). Days before this spotting I saw a big coypu swimming around. I returned with my camera and spent a lot of time waiting for the right moment and the right place for taking pictures. Suddenly, while all the other little animals were running away frightened by my unexpected presence, I saw this very relaxed turtle. I approched her slowly until I came very close and discovered she was really at ease with the situation. After the first shot, she turned her head and pointed her tired eyes on me like saying: "Come on, dude, do what you have to do and leave me in peace". It was amazing! *(I apologize for my probably bad English)
Thank you both, especially to p.young for the suggestion ! I found her in a small pond near home. She wasn't scared, like she was waiting for her photos.
I really can't identify this turtle.
She could be a Painted Turtle, chrysemys picta...
