Great Gray Owl

Strix nebulosa

Description:

I was playing a Long-eared Owl hoot while headed back from setting a trail camera and a pair of Great Gray Owls responded. I went out early this morning to see if they were still there, and luckily they were.

Habitat:

Tend to favor meadows, clear cuts. Basically open areas with a few trees where voles and small rodents are present.
