Spotting

Description:

Bryozoan? velvety and fairly solid mass growing under water along branches and cables fairly near the surface, observed in our Portland-area Columbia River marina, not sure whether it might be sea creature eggs or something akin to coral, or a Bryozoan...

Habitat:

under water, not far from surface, where we've observed it, growing along under water branches and cables

Notes:

We've noticed this growing in several spots in our marina, on the Columbia River, this August, and wonder what it is... coral? fish eggs?
