Description:

Small green, spiny-looking caterpillar found on a rock. Lobes bearing stinging spines radiate out from the edge of the body and additional stinging hairs run down its back.

Habitat:

Mixed hardwood forest at the New River Gorge.

One of the Slug Caterpillars. These caterpillars can inflict a painful sting.
