Umbilicaria mammulata

Description:

Large foliose lichen that was green on top and black underneath.

Habitat:

Growing on a mossy rock in a mixed forest.

Notes:

U. mammulata is one of the largest lichens in the world. The thallus can be up to 15cm in diameter. The largest in this spotting was approximately 5cm.
