Solitary Sandpiper

Description:

Small sandpiper with speckled back, dark upper body and white under body. Often seen alone seldom with other groups of shorebirds.

Habitat:

Swamplands, marshes and river steams

Notes:

This individual was very tolerant and allowed me to approach as well as approaching me if I moved slowly. This bird stayed near-by for quite sometime.
