Canyon Treefrog

Hyla arenicolor

Description:

Such great camouflage with the rocks! Hard to enjoy a good swim in some natural springs without worrying about accidentally stepping on these guys and slipping.

Habitat:

Near some natural springs that seem to come from the peaks of Mount Lemmon. They are still for long periods of time on the rocks near the still water.

Notes:

Usually no larger than three centimeters, but this could be because they are young. Inside the body of water, there were many tadpoles, so any frog we find near it could be juveniles.
