Pipe Organ Cactus

Pachycereus marginatus

Description:

Growing wild only on flat sandy plains of the American Southwest, they reach heights of 22 feet in the blistering heat. In fact, they need such extreme conditions to produce their pink and white flowers. http://sunnygardens.com/garden_plants/pa...

Notes:

This plant stands up to about 16 feet tall. The second picture shows flower buds along its ribs. http://arboretum.arizona.edu/taxa/Pachyc...

Hi Seema, thanks! I don't know if the pears are edible, not the flowers, which you see here. Opuntia species have edible pears for sure.
