Agricultural fields.
The monsoon showers in south India has ended and all the birds have become busy chirping, flocking and feeding. It is really nice. I have seen few of these small birds (i shall upload) after their months long absence among fields. :) ID will be appreciated.

thank you satyen, no need to say sorry. you actually showed me direction of what group to look for... :) all efforts have its results. The result of ur effort is correct id of the bird. :) much appreciated.

thank you 8Bitfinch, i saw the same in Salim ali's book, where as black crown is not in it.
Ashy crowned seems to be a different bird

thanks satyen... i checked ur suggestion link and other pictures. the black crown isn't that prominent in my spotting as compared to other available pics of black crowned sparrow-larks.. can there be difference in the amount of black plumage over its head ???
