A Dolichopodidae or commonly known as the Long-legged fly. Most of the Long-legged fly that I've seen here are metallic green. This species can be differentiated from the common species by their wings. This species have black markings on it's wings while the ordinary species have transparent wings. Long-legged flies are usually small. This one is about 6mm in length.
Forest reserve of Kinabalu National Park, Kundasang, Sabah, Malaysia.
I only managed one photograph because it flew away after the first shot. >>>Map accuracy : 400m diameter.

Gee - thanks for the info. Hope to get an ID update of the other fly soon...
The one in http://starryleaf.wordpress.com/2011/09/... might be from the Trypetisoma genus.
Yup, those 2 are really flies, not planthopper.
Sorry that I can't find out it's exact ID but I can tell you that they looks like Ulidiidae and Drosophilidae flies.
If I have some updated information, I'll promise to let you know.
This is the first time I see a metallic green long-legged fly with this type of wings.
And while we are on the subject of special-marking-wings, I wonder if you have actually seen smaller flies with this type of wings:

I thought at first these 2 flies were Derbid planthopper because of the wings. If you know what type of flies they are, do let me know. Thanks.
