Faex Beetle

Faex sp.

Description:

A medium size honey colored leaf beetle with irregular dark lines on the elytra. This belongs to a small genus of leaf beetles distinguished by enlarged leg joints.

Habitat:

On eucalypt in a nature reserve. Bunyip NP.

Notes:

Faex refers to faeces and is the singular form of term. Some beetles cover their eggs in faeces or maybe someone thought it looks like rabbit droppings. Who knows?
