Description:

Spotted out before a storm came to my garden. Family: Hesperiidae Sub: Banded Skippers (Hesperiinae). Wingspan: 2.5 - 3.2 cm (1 ti 1.25 inch). Above: Elongated wings; male is golden orange - jagged black border and stigma; female tawny ornage with dark brown bands. Below: Hindwing golden orange in male - orange brown in female. Host plant: Grasses - Bermuda, crab, bent, and St, Augustine.

Habitat:

Open grassland - fields - roadside - open woodlands - lawns and gardens.
