Sun Parakeet

Aratinga solstitialis

Description:

The Sun Parakeet is now one of the world's rarest birds in the wild due to unrelentless trapping for the cage bird industry. A small population survives in a very remote part of Guyana where this image was taken. An amazing experience to see such a beautiful and rare bird flying free!

Habitat:

Riverine forest
