Tenodera sinensis
Family: Mantidae. Subfamily: Mantinae. Tribe: Polyspilotini. Long, slender, brown and green mantis. Length up to 11 cm (4.33 inches). Most likely female due to its very large size. Feeds on insects, spiders, even small reptiles, amphibians and even hummingbirds. Predators are birds and other mantises.
Meadow on property hiding among the goldenrod and other high weeds.
Imported from China to North America around 1895 as a biological pest control.

Also, I am pretty positive it is female because I found the same one in the same area of the meadow making an egg case. ) This spot is from September. I did not raise it.
Do you have any other pictures? Males and female Chinese Mantids are about the same size. It might be male, I cannot tell. Males should be dead in the wild right now. Did you raise this from young? In the wild crippled wings I think are rare.
