Large bird, resembles the face of an eagle Found on the tree at Bascom Hall, UW-Madison
This is an Eastern Red-tailed Hawk (Buteo jamaicensis borealis). It doesn't have a belly band due to the fact that is a 'borealis' subspecies, which can be surprisingly pale.
