This individual has been hanging out in the Smith River bottoms for a couple of years, but this was only my first time seeing it. Note the white on the wings, tail and neck, the bright orange cere, and the blue bill. Found scavenging on a raccoon carcass; caracaras like this one often associate with vultures.
