The Hoopoe is a medium sized bird.It has a long, thin, and decurved bill; broad round wings; square tail crossed by a wide white band, and long erectile crest.It spends most of its foraging time on the ground, probing ... The species is highly distinctive, with a long, thin tapering bill that is black with a fawn base. The strengthened musculature of the head allows the bill to be opened when probing inside the soil.

During territorial fight between rival males it is used to stab each other often blinding the opponent!!!

Caught this one early morning today at around 8 am,had to really wait on that one till it got its crest up.
