Mossy Stick Insect, Phasmid - Female

Parastheneboea imponens

Description:

This is a incredible find of this small Spiny Phasmid of the specie Parastheneboea imponens. Small in size, around 4 cm. Coloration mostly green on dark brown, highly camouflaged among the leafs and especially the mossy part of trees. Usually found in mossy environment.

Habitat:

Tropical forest especially among mossy trees

Notes:

Pics #2 & #3 is of a separate specimen, a smaller sized Nymph but illustrate how well they camouflage among the moss
