Gambel's Quail

Callipepla gambelii

Description:

Though hard to see in my awful photos, the body is gray, face black, and they have a plume on top of the head. Was a lifer for me, so I'll settle for this awful, but IDable (barely), photos!

Habitat:

Was driving a road down the side of a mountain when I saw these guys running up a rock wall. Don't know why they didn't just fly since it was a very steep wall, but was happy to see them nonetheless :)

Oh I get a lot like this, but most of them get deleted haha. This was a cool bird, and quail are one of my favorite groups, so I kept them anyways!
