Sergio, I am hopeless id'ing fungi so I rely on the PN experts to point me in the right direction. I did buy a book, by I find there are so many species that look similar!

According to Wikipedia, the two species are related and very similar. I choose the cloud ear name for mine because I thought the colour resembles more the colour of the pic in Wikipedia. But I am open to sugestions from the experts.

Thanks Leuba - I think you are right & it's a mature specimen of the Judas Ear fungus. I found a photo of a similar one online - http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http... I will update the ID.
