Dakhan Baron

Euthalia aconthea meridionalis

Description:

Had uploaded it wrongly with http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/788... created new spotting. Thanks to Martin and Karen. Need to ID it correctly. The most widely distributed species of Euthalia in South India, more in the forests. As mango, its principal host plant is cultivated everywhere, it is now very common even in cities and crowded markets, on rotten vegetables and fruits, toddy, plant sap and damp patches. Highly territorial in habit, it often returns to the same spot again and again.

Habitat:

Near cultivated gardens.

SatyenMehta Well done. My suggestion will be the Malayan subspecies but yours will be correct.
