Mating Leaf Beetles

Sumitrosis sp.

Description:

Rough elytra, dark brown and yellow.

Habitat:

Forest

Notes:

This genus looks similar to Odontota, but an easy way to differentiate them are the colors and markings on the elytra. Sumitrosis has this mottled dark color, while Odontota is generally orange and black. Found at Barbara A. Beiser Field Station.
