Turkey Tail Bracket Fungi

Trametes versicolor

Description:

Danielle Isolano 11/12/13 11:00 a.m. Trametes versicolor. I spotted this Bracket fungi at Newport News Park growing on the side of a tree. Turkey Tail fungi does not have a stalk like a normal mushroom fruiting body. The fungi are circular in shape and can range in coloration from browns and beiges to even purples.

Habitat:

Turkey Tail Bracket Fungi are normally found growing on dying trees and logs overlapping one another.
