Gallinula galeata
wetland, ponds, canals
Had a nesting pair for a while in the drainage pond by my house. Also seen in the pond at A. D. Barnes Park, in Miami, FL
*note: I've learn on this site that the common and scientific names were set as Common Gallinule and to G. galeata as of 2011, so I've changed them. The previous Moorhen and G.chloropus are reserve for the Eurasian species.
