Desert Horse Purslane

Description:

This drought tolerant, herbaceous forb was found in a water-line man hole in the neighborhood. Unlike the Common Purslane, this plant produces purplish-pink 5-lobed flowers instead of yellow. The succulent leaves are smooth oval or round and grow in opposite pairs. Stems are thick and succulent, with a hue of red.

Habitat:

Alongside rocky desert.
