Virginia Opossum

Didelphis Virginiana

Description:

A small marsupial that inhabits a very large range, coming from southern Canada to Mexico. Opossums react to dangerous situations by "playing dead." It is for this reason that so many of them fall victim to human vehicles.

Habitat:

Dark, heavily wooded areas ranging from Canada to Mexico.

Notes:

This is my first sighting, I apologize if it isn't horribly great.
