Photinus is correct. This one here is not one of the mimics. There are several species of Photinus around the southern US (not all of them pictured on Bugguide!). They are difficult to distinguish, but every species has a very specific flashing pattern, which allows individuals of the same species (male and females) to recognize each other.

Now it is the time of Colt to add the scientific name "Photinus sp.". As common name I suggest Firefly. Thanks kk8879 for confirming as well!
Thanks Michael for the onirmation of thegenus. I was quite conident about it and just mentioned the possibilty of some kind of mimics.

Most probably a Photinus sp. from the Lampyridae. But careful, there are also Firefly mimics around, for example Cleridae!

Might be Photinus pyralis, but I do not have the time to check all other ones, so, please, verify yourself!
