Description:

Locust Borer beetle. Found in North America and anywhere there are black locust trees. Adult beetles are black with yellow bands and reddish-brown legs. Larvae live inside black locust trees (and can damage them) and adults can be found in fields containing goldenrod in late summer and fall.

Habitat:

This locust borer was found on goldenrod in a field at Kinder Farm park in Millersville, Maryland.
