Description:

Small red-brown fungi with thin, light colored gills. The stem was about 1 and 1/2 cm tall. The coastal oak leaves can help with size comparison.

Habitat:

Spotted buried in leaves in the shaded side of a small hill at Daley Ranch hiking trail in Escondido.
