These are actually what we in Europe call Feral Pigeons, descendants of the pigeons used for racing, mail-carrying, etc., and reverted to the wild all over the world. Many have interbred with other species and they come in all colours and are not really true Rock Doves, of which there are relatively few left in the wild. These do not have the black bands on the wings which the true Rock Doves and many Feral Pigeons still have. Much of the inter-breeding was carried out with Stock Doves which have some similarities with yours.
