SamanthaCraven, this spider is quite common here in cebu.. you just have to look around... I spotted this just inside the gates of the apartment where i'm staying at.

Could it be a lynx spider..there was a similar spotting posted earlier although it is spotted in the US...see spotting (2nd photo for male):
