Dussumieria acuta

Description:

The best place to dry fish near a fishing village (kuppam) may be on the road.

Habitat:

On paths all around the coast of India.

Notes:

The road is sterilised by painting it with tumeric first thus the underlying yellow tint. The larger fish go to market. Most of this catch look like sardines. They look like a shoal that has stranded itself on the road.
