Scarlet pimpernel

Description:

Meandering thin stemmed plant to 50cm tall; ovate opposite green leaves in pairs; a small 5mm orange petalled flower with yellow anthers.

Habitat:

Open moist to dry areas with average to poor soils. Introduced in Australia.

Notes:

The Scarlet pimpernel can be found in a blue form but this is not the same as its relative the Blue pimpernel.
