A Mourning Dove spotted on the roof of a house on the corner of Milway Drive and Woodlawn Trail, Fairfax County, Virginia USA. This is one of the first photos shot using my new Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ150 super-zoom camera.

Habitat:

Suburban residential community.

Again, we're on the same page -- I looked at the photos on Wikipedia and thought, "This bird's MUCH bigger than the birds shown on the Web!" Could it be a pregnant female?

No problem. It's a little fat for a mourning dove but I have seen them that large. The spotting usually gives them away.

Thanks for the species ID suggestion, "Apple!" Honestly, my first guess was Mourning Dove but I wasn't sure.
