Project Noah Nature School
This is the nest of a black and yellow bird.
There are 20 weaver (and ally) species in Burkina Faso. Several are "black and yellow". I don't know how distinctive nests are per species. It may take an expert's help to ID this from nest alone...
masked weaver maybe we have them by the tons here
Yes, the bird looks like the Vitelline masked weaver. Yellow with a black head.
How cool is that?!!!
I think the sturdy nest of a masked weaver!
I love weaver birds and this is a particularly beautiful weaver bird nest!
Does the bird look like this? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vitelline_M...And please do put this spotting in the Animal Architecture mission as S Frazier suggests http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/8082...
