Closterocoris amoenus
The species name amoenus means pretty and so this bug is! This bug is chocolate brown with white stripes and yellow and orange markings. The scutellum is white as are the stripes on the wings but the cuneus is yellow. The membrane is the chocolate brown. The thorax fades from orange to white near the head. The head is also brown with a white stripe just above each eye. Coloration can vary in this species being more muted or more brilliant than this particular spotting.
On a native Monkeyflower bush and White Sage in our yard with mixed oak woodland and sage scrub. This species is native to the southwestern US and Northern Mexico.
