Description:

Also known as Haeckels Sand Anemone, Haecknels Anemone, Branching Tube Anemone, Sea Snake Anemone, Snake Sea Anemone and Snake Arm Anemone. They feed on plankton, and grow to a width of about 20cm. They vary in color.

Habitat:

Found on coral and rocky reefs anchored to the substrate, at depths of 1 to 9m. Widespread in the western Pacific.

Notes:

Spotted it at around 35 feet. It has black tentacles with short thorns along their entire length. In the first photo, some of the tentacles appear reddish due to the flash of the camera.
