Description:

Also known as Sand-reef Wrasses and Sri Lanken Wrasse. They feed on hard shell invertebrates and zooplankton. Length - 15cm Depth - 10-40m Widespread Indo-West Pacific

Habitat:

As juveniles, they are found small, fast swimming groups, close to reefs on sand and rubble bottoms.

Notes:

These juvenile wrasse were feeding on a dead flower urchin, together with a pearl-streaked monocle bream (see 3rd photo). This was at a depth of about 25 feet.
