Micrurus mipartitus
Activas principalmente al amanecer y al anochecer (crepusculares). Altamente venenosas, aunque no son agresivas ni tienden a morder cuando se sienten amenazadas: más bien esconden la cabeza y agitan vigorosamente la cola para atraer la atención hacia esta y así evitar daños en la cabeza, en caso de que sufrieran algún ataque. Distribution in Costa Rica: Esta coral se distribuye por la vertiente atlántica; penetra en la vertiente pacífica por los pasos intervolcánicos de la Cordillera de Guanacaste. Se encuentra hasta los 1200 m de altura Feeding: Se alimentan de vertebrados elongados, principalmente de serpientes pequeñas, aunque también de lagartijas. Relationships: Por su coloración y alta venenosidad, son consideradas modelos en el complejo mimetismo coral, que incluye por lo menos otras 15 especies no venenosas.
Semifosorial. Vive en varios tipos de hábitat, desde el bosque seco tropical hasta el muy húmedo tropical, del de transición al premontano.

Hello S Frazier , yes I'm not sure what kind is it, look like a Micrurus mipartitus.
I wonder if this is really Micrurus mipartitus, because the head of this individual has a different color pattern than what one finds searching. See http://reptile-database.reptarium.cz/spe... . Even images of specimens with lots of orange bands (instead of white) which are ascribed to Micrurus mipartitus, don't have a thin white band on the head followed by a thick black band like this spotting. Micrurus mipartitus seem to have a black snout followed by a thick orange band...
