Asiatic Honey Bee

Apis cerana

Description:

An average looking bee with a yellow body that has black bars towards the tail, and clear wings.

Habitat:

High up in the far-flung, rural hills of northern Thailand.

Notes:

Seems like a bumblebee, but I don't know Asian bees that well and there were no other bees in the area for a good 10 minutes, so it could have been a different kind of loner bee.

I think it is just a Honey Bee (Apis mellifera). yours may just be a little orangier than most. Like this one:

or a subspecies from that area.
