Great Plains Rat Snake

Elaphe emoryi

Description:

Juvenile

Notes:

Beautiful little guy. Amazing color. Wikipedia link for Elaphe is a dead end but when you search the common name you get the Pantherophis link. Not sure which to use. Used Elaphe in my research. Suggestions welcome.

Taxonomy is an ever-changing thing, but I personally still use Elaphe. Do you happen to have a photo of the belly, more specifically the underside of the tail?

You might like to add a link to this spotting to one of Janson Jones' spottings with a request for ID as he is very knowledgeable on reptiles.
