Description:

Found these beauties on an old maple in south Ottawa. No gills on underside. Felt like very cold, damp memory foam to touch. I broke one open and the insides were creamy in color and fleshy in texture.

Looks an awful lot like Piptoporus betulinus, but that species is supposedly (almost) exclusive to Birch trees.
