Snow Geese

Chen caerulescens

Notes:

There were around 10,000 Snow Geese at the Dead Creek Wildlife Management Area in Addison, Vt. today. The whole time I was there, the flock was over a ridge in a pond and they all flew up 3 times circling around and returning to the pond. This picture shows only about 1/4 of the birds.

Thanks dotun and Jason. When they flew, there was a loud chorus of calls with them all squawking.
