Bark Mantid

Humbertiella gen.

Description:

A large brown bug, camouflaged on the bark of a tree. In the second picture, there is some type of skin hanging from the hind leg.

Habitat:

Seen near cultivated gardens.

Hi Satyen, what a beautiful mantid! This is not Tenodera aridifolia sinensis (Chinese Mantid). Chinese Mantids have a much different body shape and coloration:

Your little Mantid looks like one of the species of Bark Mantid, possibly Genus Humbertiella.

Unfortunately, I don't have a good resource for Mantids in your area. I hope this helps!
